Built in 1983 to a David Thomas design, the yacht has been refurbished over the past three years. In 2006 a new engine was fitted and the inside cushioning completely reupholstered along with new heads.

The running rigging was also renewed and a new roller reefing jib fitted along with a lazy-jack system for the mainsail. Electric navigational aids including two new Garmin plotters and DSC VHF were fitted at the same time. A new cooker was fitted in 2007 and new spray hood and dodgers done at the beginning of the 2008 season.

The boat carries full safety gear for MCA CodingĀ  for up to six people with all other cruising essentials such as spare gas, fuel and a tender ( a necessity on the West Coast of Scotland ) included with the charter. There is also a spinnaker for those wishing to add a bit more excitement to their week and ample fenders and warps carried onboard.

The Sigma 33 is one of the most successful cruiser/racers ever built. She is a joy to sail and with a performance better than the majority of boats her size she builds up the miles quickly, allowing large areas to be taken in in a short space of time. With a furling headsail, lazy-jacks on the main and autopilot steering she is easy to handle for both full crew or shorter handed sailing.

Downstairs she is comfortable for up to six people with a double bed in the forepeak and a double and two singles in the saloon. Central heating and a well equipped galley with hot water and a two hob gas cooker with oven and grill make for an even more comfortable experience.

Fully equipped to MCA Coding Category 2 she carries full navigation gear including two chart plotters (one situated in the cockpit) and additional GPS unit and DSC VHF.
